We are leading the logistics revolution, powering deliveries across the UK for some of the nation's biggest high-street and online brands. About the role: At InPost, we are at the heart of the UK's logistics network, delivering Newspapers & Magazines for some of the country's biggest high street retailers and small outlets. We are growing rapidly and looking for a motivated Warehouse Manager (nights) to help us continue our success!
In this key role, you'll be responsible for managing the Night Newstrade operation of our warehouse, leading a dedicated team, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Your experience in people management will help us meet deadlines, maintain quality standards, and drive operational efficiency. Shift Pattern: TUESDAY - SATURDAY
Hours: 00.00am - 08.30am
Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 p/a (depending upon experience)
What you'll be doing:
- Lead with Passion: Manage and motivate your team to ensure productivity targets are met and customer deadlines are achieved.
- Forecast and Plan: Assist in the planning and forecasting of staff requirements, including rota management and annual leave planning to ensure we're always fully staffed and ready to go.
- Optimize Operations: Ensure the Newstrade team productivity targets are achieved, maintaining quality standards at all times.
- Ensure Smooth Handover: Provide a comprehensive 'hand-over report' to the oncoming Shift Manager to maintain seamless operations.
- Create a Winning Team Culture: Ensure all new staff receive a thorough induction, and provide continuous training to both staff and contractors, enabling them to perform their roles effectively, efficiently, and safely.
- Champion Safety: Make sure that all staff have completed the necessary Health & Safety training, ensuring a safe work environment for everyone.
What we need from you:
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced Distribution or Logistics environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of operational dynamics.
- Proven success in effective people management, with a track record of motivating teams to achieve outstanding results.
- FLT Licence (desirable but not essential) & Full driving licence (with "B" class) held for at least 3 years.
- Demonstrated experience in driving and surpassing growing operational KPIs, consistently delivering measurable improvements.
- A calm, focused approach to prioritizing daily tasks, thriving under pressure while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
- Strong problem-solving skills grounded in practical, common-sense decision-making.
- Proficient computer skills, comfortable navigating essential software and systems.
- Able to confidently meet strict deadlines, paired with excellent communication skills to engage and inspire team members.
