The Governing Body of Heybrook Primary and Nursery School is looking to appoint a Permanent Learning Mentor (Achievement).
Heybrook Primary and Nursery School is a large, multi-cultural primary school situated in Rochdale. The school currently has 669 children from 2 to 11 years of age. Our school motto is ‘Be happy, be healthy, be successful and learn together’ and as a school community, we are committed to ensuring that we achieve this for each and every one of our children.
We are looking for a Learning Mentor to support children with their attainment and progress. You will be focusing on supporting children to reach their full potential in school. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making sure each and every one of our children is the best they can be.
Responsibilities
- Supporting children to develop good listening and attention skills in early years.
- Teaching children self-regulation to enable them to participate fully in class.
- Supporting children develop relationships at lunch time.
- Provide mentorship and emotional support through interventions such as ELSA, Anger management sessions etc.
- Developing pastoral plans for individual children to support them regulating their behaviour.
You will be working with a large staff with a large inclusion team. Any training needed will be provided but experience working with children across the age range is essential.
