My client, a Local Authority in Nottingham are looking for a Tractor Driver / Gardener for a minimum six month contract with an opportunity to go permanent. The candidate will be required to work in parks, open spaces, cemeteries, housing sites and other landscaped areas undertaking mowing, tractor driving, and general horticultural maintenance duties working in a safe, efficient and effective manner. You will be required to work as an individual and as part of a team as necessary.
Duties will include but not limited to:
- Mowing of parks, open spaces, sports pitches and other landscaped areas.
- Use of tractor and the full range of associated implements to undertake landscape and maintenance work.
- Use of tractor to undertake sports turf maintenance using a wide range of tractor mounted implements.
- Operate tractor in conjunction with the arboriculture team and assist with arboriculture works.
- Use of tractor and trailers to provide loading and tipping support for other grounds maintenance works.
- Operate all machinery in accordance with all relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Undertake daily checks on all plant, machinery and vehicles complete all vehicle logs/reports and report defects.
- Maintain all machinery used in connection with the work in a clean and serviceable condition. Set up machinery prior to use to ensure safe effective operation.
- Drive Council vehicles and equipment as required by grounds maintenance highways and drainage sections.
- General grounds maintenance including all routine, horticultural and maintenance tasks. You will be required to use all standard horticultural equipment together with powered hand tools and light plant.
- Assist with the maintenance of sports facilities and play areas.
- Assist with the construction and repair of facilities at relevant sites.
