About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our client’s busy warehouse team.

This is a hands-on role suited to a reliable, hardworking individual with previous warehouse and forklift experience.

You will be responsible for supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse, including picking and packing, goods in, stock control and order fulfilment.

The successful candidate must hold a valid Reach or Counterbalance forklift licence and have a full manual UK driving licence, as occasional driving of the company van will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick and pack customer orders to meet daily targets.
  • Cut rolls to customer specifications, operating cutting machinery safely and efficiently. Full training will be provided.
  • Receive goods into the warehouse and check deliveries accurately against delivery notes.
  • Assist with regular stock checks and report any discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Safely and efficiently operate Reach/Counterbalance forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Occasionally drive the company van when required.
  • Carry out manual handling and heavy lifting of items weighing up to 20kg, following correct manual handling procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and organised warehouse and working area.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures and policies.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to ensure orders are processed accurately and on time.

About You

The successful candidate will have

  • Relevant warehouse experience, ideally 2–3 years.
  • A valid Reach or Counterbalance forklift licence – essential.
  • A full manual UK driving licence – essential, due to occasional company van driving.
  • Experience using or understanding Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • A reliable, proactive and hardworking approach.
  • The ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • A strong team ethic and willingness to support colleagues.
  • A good understanding of health and safety and safe manual handling procedures.
