Inperio is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Professional Indemnity Underwriter to work within their Legal Professional Indemnity portfolio. This is a senior opportunity for an underwriting professional who wants genuine ownership, strategic influence, and the ability to build a specialist portfolio within an entrepreneurial and growing business.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Inperio (London) Limited, you will be responsible for the creation, underwriting strategy, and day-to-day management of Inperio’s Legal PI book. You will play a key role in shaping underwriting appetite, building broker relationships, developing products and wordings, and establishing a profitable long-term portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and management of Inperio’s Legal PI portfolio
- Develop and deliver underwriting strategy to internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee policy wording development and underwriting processes
- Lead underwriting activity across Legal PI products
- Build and strengthen relationships with brokers, insurers, and reinsurers
- Work closely with distribution partners to generate and grow a sustainable portfolio
- Support the ongoing development of underwriting standards, controls, and best practice
About You
We are looking for an ambitious and technically strong underwriting professional with:
- Approximately 10+ years’ experience in Professional Indemnity underwriting
- Strong understanding of Professional Indemnity pricing and rating structures
- Technical knowledge of policy wordings and liability exposures
- Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of market opportunities
- The ability to operate autonomously within a growing specialist business
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and self-motivated approach
- Experience of underwriting Solicitors Professional Indemnity Insurance
