The role's main purpose is to lead the team, as well as being a practitioner, in providing application support, maintenance, development and project management to ensure Financial & Controlling aspects of business systems enable the delivery of business requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner, within budget, time and resource constraints.

The most important internal and external factors are:

  • Ongoing legal entity & system re-structuring and business requested changes
  • Integration and harmonisation of IT systems across business units; including/resulting from JVs/mergers/divestments
  • Continuous challenge of organisational and budget assumptions, i.e. doing more for less and improving efficiency
  • Delivery of projects and organisational / process changes whilst only having indirect control on some of the key resources
  • Multi-national and multi-business environment (both internal and external interface)
  • Working effectively with cross functional and geographically dispersed teams
  • Close and effective communication with business users and suppliers

Overview of key responsibilities & accountabilities:

  • Provide functional and configuration support for SAP FI/CO, ensuring system stability and resolving user issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and standardise business processes, reporting and data management.
  • Lead and support SAP projects, including design, configuration, testing, data migration and implementation.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, Key Users and third-party developers to deliver effective SAP solutions.
  • Drive best practices, user training and change management initiatives across the organisation.
  • Support reporting and management information requirements through user enablement and solution development.

Skills & Experience:

  • University degree or equivalent relevant qualification
  • Business background in Finance / Controlling essential
  • A minimum of 5 years experience of SAP FICO implementation experience (including design, configuration, testing)
  • Ideally ability to read, debug, update, write abap. And experience with sapscript and/or smartforms.
  • Change management in multi-national organisation
  • Successful team building with wide range of internal and external bodies
  • Standardisation of business processes and business system support
  • Definition and implementation of IT processes
  • Project management & planning
  • Application problem analysis, testing and resolution
  • Business process analysis and solution modelling
  • Ability to identify and manage the risks, issues and complexities involved in changing processes/business systems
  • In depth knowledge of Finance (GL, AR, AP, AM, TR), Controlling (CCA, PCA, PC, PA, Material Ledger)
  • Project Systems, European VAT and integrations with SD, PP, MM, PM
  • Writing specifications and preparing/delivering training
