The mission of the Educational Programmes Coordinator is to support the development and execution of Inovus Medical’s innovative LCR Ignite programme, aimed at equipping 16-18-year-olds with applicable skills through direct mentorship with staff members. Additionally, the coordinator will support the organisation and delivery of high-quality surgical training events at the company’s headquarters. This role is pivotal in bridging the skills gap within the Life Sciences sector, fostering talent from underrepresented communities, and establishing a sustainable framework for skills development that can be replicated across the Liverpool City Region (LCR).

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver, refine, and maintain the LCR Ignite programme content and structure in alignment with the agreed business case.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the programme, building relationships and driving engagement.
  • Support the Programme Manager with project processes and reporting dashboards to ensure accurate and timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Map further and tertiary education providers across the Liverpool City Region, identifying opportunities for programme engagement.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve templates, resources, and delivery protocols (including surveys, feedback forms, learner journals, and reporting tools).
  • Follow and ensure the implementation of safeguarding protocols.
  • Recruit, onboard, and provide ongoing support to programme participants.
  • Coordinate learner training sessions with Inovus staff, including diary management and session logistics.
  • Lead on greeting learners and signing them into Inovus sites for learning sessions (two sites in St Helens).
  • Monitor and evaluate programme progress and outcomes, recommending and implementing improvements, ensuring it meets established goals.
  • Promote the LCR Ignite programme and delivery framework to potential host businesses in LCR to support expansion and engagement.
  • Take a leading role with host businesses to implement the LCR Ignite delivery framework, offering hands-on support, guidance, and troubleshooting to ensure the programme is delivered effectively and consistently.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Educational Programmes Manager.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of surgical training events at the company headquarters to align with the ‘simulation centre business plan’.
  • Lead on managing the simulation lab to include re-stocking, set-up and break down of equipment for courses, maintaining cleanliness of the workspace.
  • Lead on day-to-day management of the simulation courses including greeting and managing delegates and faculty and managing the daily schedule of activity.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the surgical training events meet educational standards and objectives.
  • Manage event logistics, including scheduling, resource allocation, and participant registration for the series of surgical training events.
  • Support the coordination and management of other internal and external events including but not limited to, commercial team training events and meetings, development meetings, external stakeholder meetings, including diary coordination, catering management, etc.
  • Support the administration function of the business including front-line telephone answering and triage, greeting guests, meeting-room booking coordination, supporting the executive administration needs where required.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements

  • Experience in managing educational programmes or events, preferably at the further education level and community-based education.
  • Experience with safeguarding of young persons is a requirement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of successful participation in project management, ideally with evidence of project management software experience.
  • Highly organised self-starter.
  • Proven ability of effective written and verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate and project themself.
  • Ability to effectively work on and manage many priorities at one time.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook).
  • Has an approachable manner that encourages interaction with others.
  • Highly driven with a strong motivation to succeed.
  • Fluency and clarity in written & spoken English.

  • Successful delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of the LCR Ignite Programme in line with the proposed timelines in the existing project plan.
  • Achievement of programme goals, including the number of students trained, job placements, and host business engagement.
  • Learner satisfaction and feedback surveys.
  • Effective budget management and financial compliance.
  • Development and implementation of the programme expansion framework.
