In this role you’ll be the key support to one of our animal units, making sure the technicians inside have everything they need, and the entire unit can operate perfectly. A large part of this will be operating decontamination equipment to clean and sterilise goods and items that the staff in our units need. You’ll be responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing goods within the unit, restocking stores, and carrying out regular stock takes to ensure supplies are always maintained.
In addition, you’ll perform daily facility housekeeping of the unit, sanitising all floors, surfaces and working areas to maintain a safe and clean environment.
About you:It’s preferable that you have experience of operating machines/machinery, and cleaning/sanitising. You’re not afraid of hard work, you’re comfortable performing a lot of physical tasks (lifting, loading, unloading) and you’re comfortable performing waste management and wearing PPE (hairnet, face covering, gloves, tyvek suit etc) during your day. It’s essential that you’re a great team player with a reliable and proactive approach to work. You’re flexible and happy to support colleagues with a variety of tasks. You have a strong attention to detail and can stick to procedures. You have a good level of spoken/written English and you’re able to understand written and verbal instructions. You also need a compassionate and humane approach to animals.
Location/Benefits:This is a fixed-term contract (for 18 months, with the opportunity to turn permanent). Working full-time between the hours of 07:00-16:15, Monday to Friday. Based in Belton, near Loughborough.
