The duties and responsibilities for the Bartender include, but are not limited to the following:

  • To provide friendly and efficient food and beverage service.
  • Serves menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner, according to established service standards.
  • Take reservations by telephone, greeting guests, systematically writing down food and drink orders, as well as serving in an orderly manner.
  • To control all liquor per company standards (pouring, restaurant, room service, par stocks, and requisitions).
  • To prepare drinks with proper recipes, glassware and garnish.
  • Ensure station is stocked for shift, maintain work areas in a clean and safe condition at all times.
  • Adhere to all cleaning and side duty schedules, ensuring all duties are completed as assigned.
  • Knowledge of all menus and promote food and beverage items to guests.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions as per company standard.
  • To arrive at table within 3 minutes from the guest is seated and greet in a friendly manner, informing the guest of your name and daily features.
  • To open/close the bar accordingto standard (cleanliness, properly stocked, organized).

COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:

  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills are required for this position.
  • Relevant training certificate as per province of employment.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for an 8-hour shift.
  • High school diploma / GED required.
  • 2+ years experience working as a bartender an asset.
  • Must be able to work under heavy pressure/stress during busy times.
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment ~ hours will fluctuate and evening, weekend and holiday work is required.
