Hours: 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Main Purpose of Job

The Service Charge Analyst will review the service charge accounting output from the managing agents across the client’s residential portfolio. This includes reviewing budgets and accounts, reporting to internal and external stakeholders whilst ensuring compliance with regulations and policies and mitigating financial risk to our clients.

Position in Organisation

This role reports to the Head of Client Finance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Complete detailed reviews of service charge accounts & cost estimates for properties across the portfolio (on a risk basis)
  • Carry out detailed accounting and investigation on escalated properties, extracting data from financial records
  • Conduct detailed analysis of financial data as required
  • Prepare financial reports and service charge data for tribunal proceedings and collaborate with legal advisors as necessary
  • Prepare & present financial reports to key stakeholders
  • Create financial models to support service charge performance assessments of the managing agents working on the Direct portfolio
  • Provide expert advice on service charge issues to key stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations
  • Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency

Qualifications

Relevant accounting qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) required or QBE. Experience in strategic financial decision-making and process improvement.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Extensive experience in service charge and property management accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of service charge regulations and financial reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with property management systems is a must
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional organisational and project management abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of audits and compliance
