The Contracts Engineer supports the commercial and contractual management of infrastructure projects, ensuring that contractual obligations are administered effectively, risks are controlled, and entitlements are protected. The role plays a key part in change management, claims support, correspondence, and compliance with contract conditions throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the administration of infrastructure contracts in line with contract conditions (e.g. FIDIC)
- Assist with preparation and management of contractual correspondence, notices, and records
- Support variation, change, and claims management, including substantiation and impact assessment
- Coordinate with Project, QS, Planning, and Commercial teams on contractual matters
- Assist with interim valuations, final accounts, and commercial reporting
- Monitor contractual risks and opportunities and support mitigation actions
- Support dispute avoidance and resolution under the guidance of senior commercial staff
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and applicable regulations
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline)
- Postgraduate qualification in Construction Law or Contracts is an advantage
- 3–7 years’ experience in contracts or commercial roles within infrastructure or construction
- Experience working on infrastructure projects (roads, utilities, marine, civil works)
- Familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts
- UAE or GCC project experience preferred
