Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Automation Engineer (PLC Programmer) to deliver high-quality control system solutions across multiple automation projects. You will take ownership of PLC and HMI functionality, working closely with customers, project managers, and internal engineering teams from development through to commissioning and handover.

This role involves hands-on engineering, global commissioning, and close collaboration within a structured yet fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver PLC and HMI programs in line with company standards and control concepts
  • Take responsibility for control system functionality across assigned projects
  • Work on multiple projects in parallel throughout the year
  • Collaborate with customers to deliver functional automation solutions
  • Coordinate with SCADA/MES engineers on signal interfaces when required
  • Carry out onsite commissioning from I/O testing to final handover
  • Provide installation and commissioning feedback and reports to the Project Manager
  • Train customer operators and maintenance teams
  • Supply as-built documentation and support functional descriptions and HMI translations
  • Contribute to standardisation, product development, and knowledge sharing

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Educated as an Automation Engineer, Controls Engineer, Electrical/Electronics Engineer, or similar
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar automation or PLC programming role
  • Hands‑on experience with Siemens TIA Portal and/or Rockwell Studio 5000
  • Strong PLC and HMI programming experience
  • Willing and able to travel internationally (approx. 120 days per year)
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Structured, safety‑focused approach with attention to quality
  • Willing to carry out hands‑on work, including tasks outside normal scope when required
  • Experience with SCADA and/or MES systems
  • Experience working in a global or fast‑paced project environment
