We are looking for a WCS/WMS Software Developer with strong experience in warehouse automation, logistics technology, and high-level software engineering. This is a hands-on role working across complex engineering projects, system integrations, and new product development within the intralogistics and automation space. If you have a background in conveyors, handling systems, AMRs/robotics, ASRS, or industrial automation, this role is for you!
Role ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:
- Deliver project-level engineering tasks in line with agreed timelines and technical standards
- Support development and innovation of internal WCS platforms and features
- Lead and contribute to R&D, new product development, and system enhancements
- Produce high-quality technical documents, diagrams, and functional specifications
- Review drawings and documentation, oversee functional testing for new systems
- Develop Functional Design Specifications for higher-level control systems
- Ensure all systems are fully tested, validated, and quality checked before deployment
- Build bespoke software aligned to client requirements and system standards
- Participate in ongoing training to strengthen technical competencies
- Travel to customer sites within the UK for installation, testing, and commissioning
- Maintain professional communication with clients and internal teams
- Comply with all health & safety procedures for workshop and on-site environments
We're looking for someone who brings strong technical capability across software, networks, and automation systems:
- Design, development, and testing of API interfaces between PC/server systems
- SQL Server development, integration, deployment
- Hardware understanding and specification
- Network configuration, deployment & testing (industrial networking experience welcome)
- Configuration of managed Ethernet switches & routers
- Server configuration for remote interfaces & access
- Advanced coding skills with C#, .NET/Blazor, and Python/Django (essential)
- Front-end application/dashboard development
- XML, web APIs, TCP/IP and Ethernet interface development & testing
- Strong client-facing communication, able to guide customers through testing and processes
This role includes periodic UK site travel! Involves close collaboration with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
