Job Description

We are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses (RGN/RMN) on behalf of our client, an established care provider supporting residents across Fife.

This is a permanent opportunity offering Β£20.00 per hour, with day, night and flexible shift options available.

We are looking for nurses who are passionate about delivering safe, person-centred care and who can build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues. This role would suit a clinically confident and caring nurse who wants to work within a supportive care environment and contribute to maintaining high standards of nursing care.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, safe and person-centred nursing care.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate residents' individual care needs.
  • Administer medication safely and maintain accurate medication records.
  • Monitor residents' physical and mental wellbeing and respond appropriately to any changes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation and care records.
  • Provide wound care and other appropriate clinical interventions within professional competence.
  • Support residents with long-term conditions and complex healthcare needs.
  • Provide palliative and end-of-life care where required.
  • Liaise with GPs, healthcare professionals, residents and family members.
  • Support and guide Care Assistants and other members of the care team.
  • Participate in effective handovers and care reviews.
  • Follow safeguarding, infection prevention, health and safety and medication-management procedures.
  • Recognise and escalate safeguarding concerns or deterioration in a resident's condition.
  • Maintain professional standards in accordance with the NMC Code and company policies.
  • Promote residents' dignity, privacy, independence and wellbeing at all times.

Experience and qualifications

Candidates must have:

  • Current NMC registration with a valid PIN.
  • Registered Nurse qualification – RGN and/or RMN.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Good medication administration and record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding, infection control and professional accountability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Willingness to undertake the required PVG Scheme process.
  • Availability to work day, night and/or flexible shifts depending on the agreed rota.

Previous experience in a care home, nursing home, older-person care, dementia care, mental-health nursing, complex care or palliative/end-of-life care would be advantageous.

Candidates with transferable nursing experience and strong clinical skills are also encouraged to apply.
