Deliver accurate, safe and timely site surveys on telecommunications sites, producing high-quality site sketches, photographs and reports that enable right-first-time design, build and client decisions.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute surveys on rooftops, greenfield and street-works sites; capture dimensions, levels, infrastructure, power, earthing/bonding, access/egress and hazards.
- Identify and record installed telecoms equipment (e.g., RAN, transmission, power systems including AMF/TTS, cabinets) noting condition, capacity and upgrade constraints.
- Produce sketches/mark-ups, labelled photo packs and concise survey reports to Innovatus templates within agreed timescales.
- Use Company approved apps (and client portals) daily to log attendance, RAMS, photos, sketches and mileage; maintain complete and accurate records.
- Apply RAMS and dynamic risk assessment; manage RF exclusion, working at height, manual handling and asbestos awareness controls; stop and escalate unsafe conditions.
- Inspect and maintain survey kit and PPE; ensure instruments (e.g., RF monitor) are in calibration; report defects and remove unsafe items from service.
- Engage professionally with clients, landlords and neighbours; capture access constraints and permit requirements.
- Follow document control and versioning; ensure traceability of measurements/photos; respond to QA comments promptly.
- Mobilise across the UK/IE with overnights and short-notice deployments; comply with vehicle/telematics and expenses policies.
- Handle site information securely; no unauthorised sharing or social-media posting of client/site content.
Knowledge Skills and Experience
Qualifications Required: Tower Climb and Rescue, Working at Height/Rooftop Access; RF Awareness/Non-Ionising Radiation; Asbestos Awareness; Manual Handling; Emergency First Aid (or within probation). Understanding of telecoms infrastructure: antennas/RET, feeders, cabinets, power, earthing, cable management, transmission. Full UK driving licence; comfortable with extensive travel and overnights.
Desired: MEWP, CAT & Genny/GPR basics, Basic Electrical Awareness for telecoms, client-specific inductions. Structural Awareness.
