As a Graphic Designer within Business Unit 4 at Innovative Trials, you are a core creative force supporting the delivery of high-impact Patient Recruitment & Retention programmes. You will translate complex study requirements into clear, engaging, and brand-consistent visual solutions that support patient engagement and study success. Working across multiple projects, you will balance creative thinking with meticulous art‑working, ensuring every deliverable meets exacting quality standards while adhering to timelines, regulatory expectations, and brand guidelines. Beyond execution, you will actively contribute to evolving creative best practices, collaborating closely with internal teams, clients, and external vendors to raise the overall standard of design across the business.

Job Requirements

  • Qualification/Degree in Graphic design, or relevant industry experience
  • Eye for detail, being confident in spotting issues on artwork files
  • Ability to multitask, managing a variety of projects simultaneously, and experience working with numerous stakeholders on multi projects
  • Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite; Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro.
  • Able to work across the Microsoft suite and become familiar with other software that may be required to complete tasks
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient in using Google Suite (desirable).

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Patient Recruitment & Retention programmes across defined projects.
  • Produce high-quality artwork for Patient Recruitment & Retention materials, ensuring accuracy and brand consistency.
  • Create study branding assets for projects requiring design support, including logos, style guides, and visual identities.
  • Design additional marketing and communications materials to support IT and business needs, such as PowerPoint decks, posters, brochures, and digital assets.
  • Contribute to the development of new creative/design best practices and ensure consistent implementation across projects.
  • Participate in client calls (where necessary) to take briefs, ask clarifying questions, and ensure creative requirements are fully understood.
  • Apply brainstorming and concept development techniques to generate fresh, innovative ideas for bespoke design deliverables.
  • Develop artwork layouts for new projects from initial brief to final delivery.
  • Update and adapt existing artwork files in response to client amends, localisation needs, or project updates.
  • Design and evolve branding for new studies, ensuring visual identity is clear, engaging, and fit for purpose.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve design processes and workflows within BU4, introducing efficient practices or tools where appropriate.
  • Provide ad-hoc creative support to other business units (e.g. BU0/Marketing) to meet wider company design needs.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Clinical teams, and IT to understand project objectives and translate them into effective design solutions.
  • Present design ideas and rationale clearly to internal stakeholders and, when required, to clients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to maintain consistency of design and messaging across all outputs.
  • Where necessary, liaise with external design, print, and production vendors to ensure quality of deliverables are maintained.
  • Escalate and report on vendor performance issues, offering solutions or alternatives where possible.
  • Support vendor selection by providing feedback on design/production quality and value.
  • Ensure all vendor-delivered artwork and assets align with internal quality standards and project requirements.
