We’re looking for a specialist Staff Designer who will conceptualise and deliver our design systems across the whole business’ technology estate. You will play a critical part in amplifying the impact of experience design alongside cross-functional software engineering teams to as part of a multi-year strategy.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Design Systems Strategy and Execution: Define our multi-year design and front-end strategy ensuring the system will function for and make a positive impact on all of our products and platforms, both broker-facing and internal.
• Collaboration with Engineering: Working alongside software engineers and engineering leadership to ensure there’s alignment and high quality deliverables, meeting accessibility guidelines and modern best practice for front end frameworks.
• Establish, systematise, and hold the quality bar: Through relationship building, an acute aesthetic sensibility and formidable attention to detail you will re-establish, define and own the experience quality of our products, helping other teams roll out improvements at high velocity.
• Inspire partners and stakeholders: Drive the discussion, with stakeholders across the business, of how our front-end systems and strategy will most meaningfully create innovation platforms and move the business towards its goals.
• Communicate effectively: Proactively communicate progress against milestones, commercial impact and supporting the team’s cultural values.
Skills and Experience:
• You\’ve successfully delivered design systems and front-end frameworks, particularly in enterprise or B2B settings
• You have a track record of turning design work into scalable systems and components that drive real business results
• You\’re highly technical and detail-oriented, from atomic-level precision to big-picture brand strategy
• You love mentoring other designers and engineers who share your passion for UI frameworks and design systems
• You’ve faced setbacks and learned valuable lessons from them
• Curiosity drives you, and you\’re always eager to explore and learn
• You thrive in ambiguity and focus on solving real, meaningful problems
• You communicate clearly and confidently, even when engaging with senior stakeholders
• You’re proactive, pragmatic, and take initiative without waiting to be asked
