About the Role
We’re looking for a QA Automation Engineer with a strong SDET mindset to help improve quality across our platforms and products. This role sits between traditional QA and software engineering, with a focus on building and embedding automated testing across the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated tests across API, integration, and UI layers
- Contribute to the development and evolution of test frameworks and tooling
- Embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Work closely with engineers to ensure testability and quality are built into solutions from the outset
- Improve test reliability, reduce flakiness, and optimise feedback cycles
- Support test strategy, coverage, and best practices across teams
- Debug issues and help identify root causes across distributed systems
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and engineering standards

Requirements
We’re looking for a QA Automation Engineer with a solid foundation in testing and a strong interest in modern engineering practices. This role is well suited to someone with around 3–5 years’ experience who is looking to grow into a more SDET-style role over time.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience in QA automation, SDET, or software engineering roles
- Experience with API testing (e.g. REST) and UI automation tools (e.g. Playwright or similar)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into them
- Familiarity with modern development practices (Git, branching strategies, code reviews)
- Experience working in distributed or microservices-based systems
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Experience building or improving automation frameworks
- Exposure to performance or load testing tools (e.g. k6, JMeter)
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with observability tooling (e.g. ELK, Grafana)
- Knowledge of contract or security testing
- ISTQB or similar certification
