Salary: Up to ÂŁ50,000, dependent on skills and experiences
What you’ll be doing:
- Defines the qualification obligations for the assurance hold points during build, test & commissioning, and provides assurance to the Design Authority as to the adequacy and robustness of the Safety Case and supporting documentation
- Identifies and closes issues emerging from product lifecycle stages and manages the resulting change embodiment activities
- Undertakes peer reviews or checking/verification of tasks as directed
- Developing and validating thermal models to predict product performance under various operating conditions
- Collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to optimize the thermal design of radar components and subsystems
Your skills and experiences:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and/or proven experience
- Strong understanding of heat transfer principles, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics
- Experience in designing and testing thermal systems for electronic components, PCB cooling, and whole radar systems

As you engage with engineering functions across the business, our team covers the whole engineering lifecycle using the latest cutting-edge technology. Becoming a member of the Mechanical Engineering Radar team will provide you with significant exposure inside the larger BAE Systems organisation.
BAE Systems Naval Radar provides Radar products and support services to a diverse range of customers worldwide. This role will provide engineering management support as part of a team delivering capability upgrades to the Royal Navy over the next 10 years. You will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge, with the potential to lead into more senior positions within a global business.
