Head of Engineering
Location: Basildon
Salary: £90,000 to £120,000 depending on experience plus competitive benefits package
Our client a market leader within the Defence / Space industry are currently looking for a Head of Engineering to Review, Analyse and evaluate business procedures in order to improve day to day operations, ensuring smooth processes.
Your duties:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership across all aspects of Engineering, ensuring organisational goals and objectives are aligned.
- Lead a multi disciplinary team of engineers to deliver projects to time, cost and quality
- Create a culture of excellence and accountability, inspiring team members to achieve their full potential and deliver exceptional results.
- Support business development activities by participating in customer meetings, providing input into proposals, and identifying engineers to support conceptual designs.
- Manage the R&D team to execute internal research to support programmes
- Manage the Engineering overhead budgets, including: training, engineering infrastructure, equipment, and R&D projects.
- Work with other departments to contribute to cross functional excellence across the programmes
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in the development of electronics and/or imaging systems
- Proven leadership experience overseeing large teams and complex organisations
- Ability to build and maintain engineering teams that can execute challenging projects.
- Strong knowledge of electronics design and systems engineering.
