Systems Engineer (Engineering)

We are looking for Systems Engineers with experience of core Systems Engineering activities across the whole life cycle. You will be responsible for shaping the technical direction of EO Seekers & Sensors, working closely with specialist teams and external partners to ensure successful delivery. From specification and assessment to cutting-edge R&D, you will play a key role in advancing next-generation capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage system requirements, ensuring clear justification and traceability.
• Design and evaluate system architectures to support advanced technologies.
• Conduct trade studies to assess design options and optimise system performance.
• Lead system testing, validation, and certification to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to drive technical solutions.
• Support research and development initiatives to advance future capabilities.
• Oversee engineering work packages, ensuring efficient coordination and project delivery.

Skills & Experience

• Expertise in systems engineering, including requirements analysis and specification development.
• Experience in designing and modelling complex system architectures.
• Ability to conduct trade studies to inform design decisions.
• Knowledge of system verification, validation, and certification processes.
• Proficiency with systems engineering tools (e.g., IBM DOORS Next, Rhapsody).
• Experience managing engineering work packages and coordinating teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including with customers and suppliers.
