Our client, a leading Defence organisation is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a growing Maritime programme and other variants. The role is open to junior candidates who demonstrate strong engineering behaviours, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn.

Role Overview

The Systems Engineer will support the through-life engineering of the PDLT subsystem within a fast-paced delivery environment supporting UK and international customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting in-service technical queries and engineering issues
  • Undertaking Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML/UML and Rhapsody
  • Supporting product validation, verification, and certification of changes
  • Working with project teams to support planning, forecasting, and delivery updates
  • Producing and reviewing technical engineering documentation
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of engineering processes and practices

Candidate Profile

  • STEM degree or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle (requirements, integration, test)
  • Exposure to MBSE tools and methodologies (Rhapsody desirable)
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS) and configuration control
  • Experience in engineering delivery or technical problem solving (junior-level experience acceptable)
  • Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable challenging existing approaches to improve outcomes
