Our client, a leading engineering and technology organisation operating within a highly regulated environment, is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Project Manager to join their dedicated Electronics Engineering Team. This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of complex, high-priority engineering programmes, driving the design, development and delivery of sophisticated electronic subsystems from concept through to full production.
Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you will play a key role in shaping project delivery strategy while managing technically challenging programmes that have a direct impact on critical customer requirements.
The Role
As a Senior Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering complex engineering projects to agreed time, cost and quality objectives. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project controllers and key stakeholders to ensure successful programme execution throughout the full project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of complex electronic subsystem development projects from concept through to production
- Managing project performance against cost, schedule and quality objectives
- Driving effective risk management and mitigation strategies
- Managing stakeholder relationships across engineering, programme and customer teams
- Ensuring compliance, governance and configuration management requirements are met
- Applying Earned Value Management principles to monitor and control project performance
- Supporting delivery planning and project scheduling activities
- Mentoring and supporting junior project management professionals
- Contributing to wider project delivery strategy and continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A strong background in the engineering development of electronic systems or electronic units
- Proven experience delivering significant engineering projects or programmes on time and within budget
- Strong understanding of project management best practices, including:
- Risk Management
- Stakeholder Management
- Compliance Management
- Configuration Management
- Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, from initiation and planning through to delivery and closure
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, driven and collaborative approach to leadership
