Process Assurance Engineer (Software Quality) - salary between £40k - £50k pa. plus benefits
This is a challenging and rewarding role focusing on the full software life cycle process design, adherence to national and international standards, and process auditing primarily through ISO 9001.
The scope is broader than traditional software testing, emphasising process assurance, relationship management, and quality engineering within a dynamic and people-driven environment at our client.
Qualifications & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline)
- Relevant understanding of development methodologies and software life cycle processes is essential
Experience & Knowledge
- Significant experience with process design, documentation, and adherence to quality standards (ISO 9001 compliance is critical)
- Proven knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and configuration management processes, including document control, sign-offs, and change management
- Experience with unit testing and version control systems as part of process assurance (testing software itself is a small part; primary focus is on process assurance)
- Understanding of principles and methods used in software development, not specific to any one software type (generalist capable of applying standards across various software platforms)
- Experience with process auditing related to software and development practices
- Preferably some experience or interest in hardware testing in simulated environments
- Experience in roles involving project management or process ownership is desirable — individuals transitioning from project management to software assurance are welcome
- Strong process-oriented mindset: ability to document, audit, improve, and enforce quality and process standards
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in managing configuration and documentation controls
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships internally across teams and senior management
- Superior communication skills: confident presenting and participating in senior management meetings
Flexibility to work on-site as required by project demands
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills: able to manage softer aspects of relationship-building critical to success within our client
- Motivated self-starter with a career mindset toward progressing in a people-focused and quality-driven culture
