Join an engineering team as a PCB Assistant, supporting circuit board design from schematics to production data. You’ll work with engineers to ensure layouts meet strict technical and manufacturing standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing PCB layouts in Altium Designer from approved schematics
- Work alongside electronics engineers to ensure layouts align with design intent
- Undertake component placement, routing, and rule checks under engineering direction
- Generate and update production data (e.g. Gerbers, BOMs, and placement files)
- Maintain and update PCB library parts in line with project standards
- Help clarify manufacturing needs with external suppliers and assemblers
- Contribute to the upkeep of design records and process enhancements
- Support configuration control and design change activities for PCB data
- Aid process improvements in PCB workflows using continuous improvement principles
What are we looking for?
- Hold a Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Some experience with PCB layout software, preferably Altium Designer
- Careful, organised approach with a strong eye for detail
- Clear communicator with a team-oriented mindset
Desirables:
- Practical experience creating PCB layouts used in delivered products
