We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Service Technician to support, maintain, and improve automated mechanical equipment across customer sites in the UK and overseas. This role suits someone with strong mechanical systems experience, confident troubleshooting skills, and the flexibility to travel as needed.
Key responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment and automation systems on customer sites and, where possible, remotely.
- Adjust and fine‑tune machinery to maximise uptime, reliability, and performance.
- Lead small on‑site teams when required, and coordinate activities with customer contacts and external vendors.
- Record service activities, technical findings, and recommendations for future improvements.
- Support customer maintenance teams with guidance on routine maintenance and fault‑finding.
- Work safely at all times, following both company and customer procedures and standards.
Technical profile:
- Minimum 5 years’ hands‑on mechanical experience (e.g. automation, machinery, conveyors, robotics, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, with basic understanding of electrical and control systems.
- Confident reading engineering drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Comfortable using standard MS Office tools (e.g. Word and Excel) for service and reporting tasks.
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, MTBI, or a comparable mechanical discipline.
- Willing and able to travel throughout the UK, with occasional short‑notice international trips.
