Our client, a leading Defence organisation is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a growing Maritime programme and other variants. The role is open to junior candidates who demonstrate strong engineering behaviours, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn.
Role Overview
The Systems Engineer will support the through-life engineering of the PDLT subsystem within a fast-paced delivery environment supporting UK and international customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting in-service technical queries and engineering issues
- Undertaking Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML/UML and Rhapsody
- Supporting product validation, verification, and certification of changes
- Working with project teams to support planning, forecasting, and delivery updates
- Producing and reviewing technical engineering documentation
- Contributing to continuous improvement of engineering processes and practices
Candidate Profile
- STEM degree or equivalent experience
- Understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle (requirements, integration, test)
- Exposure to MBSE tools and methodologies (Rhapsody desirable)
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS) and configuration control
- Experience in engineering delivery or technical problem solving (junior-level experience acceptable)
- Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable challenging existing approaches to improve outcomes
