Qualified (Level 3 NVQ or Apprenticeship) Electrical Engineer seeking an independent, field-based role in a mature, growing business. As a key member of the Engineering Service Support Team, this Field Service Engineer role will play a crucial part in delivering world-class solutions to factories and intralogistics sites by maintaining, servicing and repairing transportation, conveyor and material handling systems.
The role involves planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault-finding, making improvement recommendations, participation in a callout rota, and machine maintenance aligned with customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform planned preventative maintenance and suggest system improvements.
- Complete the service rota efficiently.
- Ensure safety compliance and conduct mechanical/electrical repairs.
- Collaborate with the team for innovation and system enhancements.
- Work with head office on incoming priorities to plan your day and visits.
- Manage incident/accident reporting and implement preventive strategies.
- Prioritise workload for effective time management.
- City and Guilds or equivalent recognized NVQ Level 3 or Apprenticeship in an Electrical discipline.
- You must either hold, or be able to obtain, a Basic level DBS clearance for this position.
- Engineering experience in parcel handling, conveyors systems, material handling equipment or similar would be highly beneficial.
- This can also cross over well with maintenance experience from production and manufacturing environments.
- FMCG, intralogistics or manufacturing/production environments would also be ideal.
- Familiarity with inverter drives, SCADA control, profibus, Asi, PC/PLC control is of benefit.
- Successful delivery against contractual targets and KPIs.
- Extensive experience in managing service contracts.
