Our client, a leading organisation operating within a highly advanced engineering and manufacturing environment, is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to join their growing team in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping production test capability for complex electronic systems, supporting products from development through to production readiness.

Working within a collaborative and technically challenging environment, you will contribute to the introduction of new test solutions, development testing activities and manufacturing readiness programmes.

The Role:

  • Support the introduction of test systems and provide diagnostic and test engineering expertise for complex electrical, electronic and RF-based products during development and early production phases.
  • Support test engineering activities throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept through to production readiness and release into manufacturing operations.
  • Support the introduction of new test facilities and ensure appropriate configuration control processes are in place before deployment.
  • Produce and maintain test specifications, operator instructions and supporting technical documentation.
  • Conduct development and production testing of complex electronic systems, sub-assemblies and circuit cards.
  • Diagnose test failures to circuit card and, where required, component level.
  • Identify corrective actions and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, operations, design and project teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and less experienced engineers within the team.
  • Support the ongoing improvement of manufacturing test capability and processes.

What We're Looking For:

  • HNC qualification (minimum) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; HND or Degree qualification preferred.
  • Significant experience within electronics manufacturing, test engineering or production test environments.
  • Strong knowledge of analogue, digital and RF electronic testing.
  • Good understanding of electrical, electronic and RF measurement principles and associated test equipment.
  • Experience supporting products through the development lifecycle within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience using both manual and automated test equipment.
  • Previous experience within defence, aerospace, highly regulated manufacturing or similarly complex engineering environments would be advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities whilst maintaining a high level of technical quality.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience producing technical reports, test specifications and work instructions.
