Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer – field based to cover sites along the central belt (Scotland)

Salary: Circa Β£58,000 + van + bonus

Shift pattern: 3am to 3pm & 10am to 10pm. Working on rotation basis

The opportunity

A great opportunity for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support a network of automated depots across the Edinburgh region. The role suits someone who enjoys a mix of electrical and mechanical work, thrives in a fast-paced automated environment, and is confident working independently across multiple sites. You will help keep mission-critical sortation equipment running safely, reliably and efficiently to support continuous operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, carrying out detailed electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
  • Complete ad hoc repair tasks across all types of sortation and conveyor equipment.
  • Deliver planned, preventative and reactive maintenance in line with maintenance schedules and standards.
  • Carry out servicing activities and accurately complete service reports and updates on internal maintenance systems.
  • Use SCADA and related control systems to support fault diagnosis and resolution.
  • Liaise with on-site Security, Operations and IT teams to plan and complete work in line with operational requirements.
  • Promote and adhere to Health and Safety policies at all times, including full compliance with COSHH and other relevant regulations.

About you

You will have completed a recognised engineering or maintenance apprenticeship, or hold an HNC/HND (or equivalent) with an electrical bias. You are comfortable managing your own workload, planning your visits and prioritising tasks across a cluster of depots.

You will also bring:

  • Experience in a fast-paced automated or distribution environment, with strong electrical and mechanical repair skills.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability, with the resilience to work under pressure and within tight timeframes.
  • High levels of self-motivation, flexibility and ownership of issues through to resolution.
  • A collaborative, positive mindset and strong communication skills when working with site teams.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between regional sites as required.
