Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 16:00 (+ on-call, 1 week in 3)

In this hands-on maintenance position, you will be working on a range of cargo-handling equipment, at a major world cargo hub at Heathrow Airport. Your work will include PPM and RM of cargo/material handling equipment, conveyors, sensors, motors, etc., with training given if needed. You will ensure the system’s functionality and reliability by carrying out planned and preventative maintenance, as well as fault finding and repairs.
You will report to the UK Engineering Manager and work within a team setting to provide a highly effective and efficient maintenance service.
As a Material Handling Equipment Maintenance Engineer, you will:
- Maintain the electrical and mechanical elements of the MHE system
- Carry out all PPM (Planned and Preventative Maintenance) in line with set schedules for the system and sub-systems to comply with relevant Industry, H&S, legislative and Company standards
- Assist in preparation of reports as requested by the UK Engineering Manager.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Hands-on capability to resolve day-to-day maintenance issues in an effective and timely manner
- Engineering Analytical skills and Fault-finding
- Proactive Teamwork and communication
- Demonstrable ability to absorb complex systems knowledge
- Ability to learn and demonstrate the execution of new skills when given appropriate training
- Working knowledge of material handling equipment
- An appreciation of project management
- Knowledge of Engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Appreciation of planned preventative maintenance schedules
- Confident use of common power tools, professional and hand tools
- Able to accurately interpret manuals and drawings to deliver working capability (mechanics, electrics, pneumatics, hydraulics)
