Our client, a leading engineering and technology organisation operating within the defence and national security sector, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their Software Quality team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in software development, software engineering or software quality assurance to further develop their career within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.

You will work closely with engineering teams, providing independent quality assurance support across complex software projects and helping ensure the highest standards are maintained throughout the software development lifecycle.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting software teams in the application of quality processes, standards and best practices, ensuring products are delivered in accordance with customer, regulatory and business requirements.
  • Providing independent software quality assurance across multiple projects.
  • Leading project quality assessments and reviews.
  • Identifying quality risks, issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Producing quality reports and presenting findings to project stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively with engineering, project management and quality teams to drive continuous improvement.

Applicants are likely to have experience in software engineering, software development, software quality assurance or a related technical discipline, including:

  • Experience working within software development or software quality environments.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles and quality assurance principles.
  • Knowledge of software processes, standards and assurance requirements.
  • Software quality auditing experience.
  • Knowledge of configuration management practices.
  • Understanding of recognised software standards and assurance frameworks.
  • An Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience.
