JOB TITLE: Project Officer (Supported Employment – Cardiff) Sustain Ability Project.

POSITION AVAILABLE: 39 hours per week.

This role is permanent with 5 years funding secured through the Dormant Asset Scheme administered by The National Lottery Community Fund.

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Project Manager

SALARY: £25,081.06 – £27,646.18 per annum

LOCATION: Providing support to individuals living in Cardiff. Occasional travel to the Vale of Glamorgan and Rhondda Cynon Taf to support wider project activities.

Overview:

Innovate Trust are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic person to join the Sustain Ability project as a Project Officer (Supported Employment – Cardiff). The Sustain Ability project, in partnership with ELITE Supported Employment, will work with 400 disabled people aged 16 to 30, to enable them to develop their vocational skills, awareness, knowledge and employability in terms of careers in Green Industries.

The Project Officer will provide person centred one-to-one job coaching to young people with disabilities, in line with the National Operating Standards of Supported Employment.Individuals will be supported to achieve vocational experience, paid internships and sustainable paid employment in line with their goals.

You will be part of a project team and will work closely with your colleagues to meet project aims and objectives.

The project will sit within the Skills & Wellbeing department at Innovate Trust which incorporates a range of innovative projects that seek to support the skills development of people with learning disabilities and other additional needs.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be committed to providing meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities.
  • Be able to manage their own tasks and work to set deadlines.
  • Be willing to embrace digital technology to achieve the aims and objectives of the department.
  • Enjoy public facing duties such as engaging with individuals, their support networks, project partners and green employers.
  • Enjoy working within a team to achieve project aims and objectives.
  • Be confident in engaging with employers on behalf of people with disabilities.
