CANDIDATES MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OF MANAGING FULL LIFECYCLE GLOBAL CIVIL/CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS.
THE PROJECT: A Civil Works Project Manager is required by a Global technology systems integrator to take ownership of civil/construction elements of major programmes, to be based out of their established project office near to Congleton but requiring frequent global travel to be on the ground during construction phases.
THE ROLE: The Civil Works Project Manager will take responsibility for the design, development and construction of an extensive range of complex civils projects in the built and natural environment. This role is central to ensuring the safe, timely and well-resourced completion of systems integration projects on a global scale. Liaising with clients, you will help plan, manage, design and supervise the construction of projects. You will work in several different settings with experience to run projects as a project manager. Candidates will be UK based but should expect to travel extensively.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Undertake detailed technical designs (using CAD software), feasibility studies and site investigations.
- Manage, supervise and visit contractors on site and advise on civil engineering issues.
- Communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients.
- Manage budgets and other project resources including creating work breakdown structure (WBS) - translate requirements into tasks.
- Review and approve project drawings.
- Ensure that a project runs smoothly and that the structure is completed on time and within budget.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- NEBOSH, IOSH, SMSTS or other qualification related to managing safely.
- Ideally a HNC or other formal Civil Engineering qualification.
- Ideally APM or other Project Management qualification.
- Possess a good working knowledge of civil engineering works, concrete construction, and project management & applicable regulations.
LOCATION: Congleton but with extensive global site travel.
