The Opportunity
My Client is offering a fantastic opportunity to work in a UKAS / ISO 17025 accredited environmental test laboratory, supporting a wide range of projects across our entire product portfolio. As part of the Environmental Engineering & Facilities team, you will test the company's products under real-world extreme conditions including temperature, humidity, shock, and vibration helping to ensure our systems are safe, robust, and fit for service. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, solving complex engineering problems and contributing to both design verification and in-service surveillance activities.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute environmental tests against customer requirements
- Simulate extreme operational environments using specialist test equipment
- Analyse data, review documentation, and produce test reports
- Support technical reviews with customers and partners
- Apply standards such as DEF STAN, MIL-STD-810, STANAG, and AECTP
- Occasional travel to Henlow required
Qualifications
- HNC / HND / Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering discipline
- Strong understanding of mechanical structures and analysis
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation (accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gauges)
- Methodical, safety-conscious, and self-motivated approach
Desirable
- Experience with vibration control systems (e.g. LMS), project delivery, or driving technical improvements
