Innovate ADHD Ltd is expanding our prescribing team, and we are looking for passionate professionals to join us in revolutionising ADHD care! The post holder will work as a specialist ADHD prescriber within Innovate ADHD's multidisciplinary team, delivering remote medication management clinics for patients with ADHD and co-occurring neurodiverse and mental health presentations. The role requires independent, autonomous clinical practice within professional and regulatory frameworks, providing high-quality, safe, and person-centred prescribing across our NHS and private caseloads.

Main duties of the job:
- Provide specialist clinical care for patients aged 7-65 with ADHD and co-occurring neurodiverse and mental health difficulties across Innovate ADHD's services.
- Prescribe medication and manage individualised treatment plans in line with NICE guidelines and Innovate ADHD's prescribing protocols.
- Lead and coordinate ADHD medication review clinics, ensuring access and patient flow are prioritised across NHS and private pathways.
- Manage a caseload, applying analysis of complex clinical information to determine appropriate assessment and treatment planning.
- Ensure high standards of patient safety, clinical governance, and CQC regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with NHS Integrated Care Boards, Right to Choose partners, schools, occupational health providers, and mental health professionals.
- Work autonomously within professional practice guidelines and Innovate ADHD's clinical policies and standard operating procedures.
- Contribute to service development, audit, and evaluation, and support the training and supervision of clinical staff including CAP apprentices.
- Work effectively as a core member of Innovate ADHD's multidisciplinary team, supporting integrated, neurodivergent-affirming care across the lifespan.
- Participate in continuous professional development and clinical supervision in line with professional registration requirements.

Innovate ADHD Ltd is a specialist, CQC-regulated ADHD assessment and treatment service. We are a startup with real ambition; we have built our foundations carefully, with strong clinical governance, a neurodivergent-affirming ethos, and a genuine commitment to quality care. We are currently mobilising NHS Right to Choose contracts with Integrated Care Boards, for adults aged 18-65, and hope to expand to children and wider neurodevelopmental assessments in the near future. Our team is multidisciplinary and growing, bringing together psychologists, nurses, pharmacists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and Clinical Associates in Psychology. We work collaboratively, take supervision and professional development seriously, and believe that looking after our staff is inseparable from delivering excellent patient care. We are a digital-first service, which means genuine flexibility in how you work. We understand that our clinicians are professionals who do not need to be micromanaged; we offer autonomy alongside appropriate support and governance structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct remote ADHD medication initiation, titration, and review appointments for patients aged 7-65 in line with NICE guidelines (NG87 and NG98) and Innovate ADHD's prescribing protocols.
- Undertake thorough clinical assessments prior to initiating or adjusting prescriptions, including review of diagnostic reports, risk screening, physical health parameters, and co-occurring presentations.
- Prescribe within scope of practice as a registered Non-Medical Prescriber or Pharmacist Independent Prescriber, adhering to all relevant regulatory and professional standards.
- Manage complex presentations including ADHD with co-occurring anxiety, mood disorders, autism, and other neurodiverse profiles, liaising with the wider clinical team as appropriate.
- Ensure robust monitoring of medication side effects, physical health markers, and patient wellbeing at each review point.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation within Innovate ADHD's clinical platform, ensuring records meet CQC and professional standards.
- Triage prescribing-related queries from patients and clinical colleagues, providing timely clinical advice and follow-up as required.
- Participate in shared care arrangements and liaise with GPs and NHS partners to support safe prescribing handover where applicable.
- Contribute to safeguarding processes in line with Innovate ADHD's safeguarding policy, escalating concerns appropriately.
Governance and Quality:
- Work in accordance with Innovate ADHD's clinical policies, standard operating procedures, and prescribing frameworks.
- Contribute to clinical audit, prescribing review, and service evaluation activity to support continuous quality improvement.
- Participate in significant event reviews and learning from feedback processes.
- Maintain compliance with CQC fundamental standards and contribute to the organisation's ongoing regulatory obligations.
- Ensure prescribing practice is evidence-based, keeping up to date with NICE guidance, MHRA communications, and emerging clinical literature relevant to ADHD pharmacotherapy.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Work as an integrated member of Innovate ADHD's multidisciplinary team, attending clinical meetings, case discussions, and team briefings as required.
- Liaise with NHS Integrated Care Boards, Right to Choose referral partners, GPs, schools, occupational health providers, and external mental health professionals.
- Support the training and development of clinical colleagues by sharing prescribing knowledge and contributing to team learning.
- Contribute to the induction and supervision of new or junior prescribing staff where appropriate.
Professional Development:
- Maintain valid professional registration and independent prescribing qualification throughout employment.
- Engage in regular clinical supervision in line with professional requirements and Innovate ADHD's supervision framework.
- Participate in mandatory training, CPD activities, and annual appraisal.
- Actively contribute to Innovate ADHD's culture of reflective, neurodivergent-affirming clinical practice.
Person Specification:
- Demonstrable experience in ADHD or neurodevelopmental conditions, either in specialist or community mental health settings.
- Strong working knowledge of ADHD pharmacotherapy across the lifespan, including stimulant and non-stimulant medications.
- Experience of delivering remote or digital clinical consultations.
- Excellent clinical documentation skills with experience of using digital clinical platforms or EPR systems.
- Ability to work autonomously, managing own caseload and prioritising effectively within a remote working environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with neurodiverse patients and families.
- Commitment to neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed clinical practice.
- Sound understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, and CQC regulatory requirements.
- Up to date mandatory training including safeguarding adults and children at the appropriate level.
- Previous experience working within a multidisciplinary or specialist neurodevelopmental team.
- Experience working within NHS Right to Choose, ICB-commissioned, or private ADHD pathways.
- Familiarity with NICE guideline NG87 (ADHD in children and young people) and NG98 (ADHD in adults).
- Experience prescribing for children and young people aged 7-17.
- Knowledge of co-occurring presentations including autism, anxiety, mood disorders, and learning difficulties.
- Experience contributing to clinical audit, service evaluation, or quality improvement activity.
Compliance Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS check (with children and adults barred list check) required prior to commencement.
- Proof of professional registration and independent prescribing qualification required.
- Compliance with Innovate ADHD's information governance, confidentiality, and data protection policies (UK GDPR).
