Work Location: Grimsby. Accommodation onshore paid by consultant.
2025 is expected to be primarily onshore or Norway based at Construction yard.
Travel locations: UK, Norway, EU, Thailand or as per project request.
Rota: 2025 (Mon-Fri all days), or as per agreement with Windfarm Commissioning Manager. 2026 expected to be 14/14 - 12H per day when offshore. Transition date between rotas to be final agreed with Windfarm Commissioning Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Implementation of the Electrical Safety Rules on site, including the safe system of work.
- Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations and both HV submarine and onshore cables.
- Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment.
- Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security and integrity of the HV network.
- Contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties and that the process works effectively.
- Coordinate MV/HV/LV commissioning activities through the project construction stages.
- Take electrical operational responsibility for an entire substation.
- Possibility to work in adverse work conditions/emergency work scenarios.
- On-call may arise during certain work tasks.
- GWO training and HUET training to be completed.
- Ability to pass medical fitness test.
Tasks:
- Ensure compliance with and managing of Electrical Safety Rules.
- Safety coordination in electrical matters.
- Act as senior authorized person.
- Outage management and network control in collaboration with the Control Engineers.
- Update MV/HV/LV schematic diagrams.
- Inspect work sites and perform site safety inspections and auditing for electrical matters.
- Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to ensure that accurate updates are distributed to the Project Management.
- Manage and coordinate HV/MV/LV commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with National Grid and attend commissioning panel meetings.
- Prepare and check high voltage switching schedules.
- Check method statements for electrical matters.
- Implement and provide training programmes for relevant staff according to the rules.
- Provide technical and engineering advice to working parties for electrical matters.
- Assist different departments in Ørsted when required.
- Attendance at FAT and SAT tests if required.
- Act as Training Mentor for various projects.
Deliverables:
- Input to the project commissioning management manual and related documents (including pre-commissioning and commissioning quality plans).
- Participation in different audits.
- Reports from FAT & SAT on the different high voltage equipment.
- Onsite check of switching programs.
- Participation in the planning of resource and work activities.
- Participation in authorizations and assessments of new candidates.
- Deliver inputs to the design phase of the project on technical aspects.
- Switching on HV/MV & LV equipment.
- Grounding of equipment & creating isolation zones.
- Setting up demarcation of worksites for contractors based on Work Requests.
- Lead toolbox talks to start working parties.
- Pre and Post energization checks of all equipment across the windfarm.
- Participating in work rotations both offshore and onshore if assigned to that rotation.
- Project specific administrative tasks to assist Lead SAP.
- Ability to work on Microsoft platforms (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
