Contract opportunity for a Mechanical Systems Engineer specialising as a DFMEA Facilitator is available in Peterborough.
As the FMEA Facilitator you will lead engineers through the full Proactive Reliability process – from risk identification, assigning mitigation activities and creation of the DVP. Working across system and component FMEA, reporting to project leaders. You will be involved from the beginning of a new program, defining requirements and objectives. We are looking for around five years’ experience, ideally from systems engineering, engine, or machinery manufacturer. This experience will cover industrial diesel engines.
The responsibilities cover:
- Scheduling, chairing & facilitating FMEA sessions
- Involvement in FMEAs both at system & component level
- Provide support & training on FMEA process & FMEA tool software (Plato e1ns)
- Creation & communication of FMEA health metrics
- Development of FMEA health metric processes & tools
- Supporting creation of optimised component & engine level validation plans
- Seeking & delivering continuous process improvement opportunities
Skills and Experience:
- Experience of DFMEA facilitation and creation
- Demonstrated experience of planning validation and test requirements
- A Systems Engineering approach to product development
- Good communication skills, both written and working as part of a team
- Experience of Proactive Reliability methods and demonstration of Product Quality
Additionally:
- Demonstrated experience of Engine Design, Development or Simulation
- 6 Sigma Methodology, Continuous Process Improvement & Lean
- Experience of applications with construction machinery or generating sets
- Experience of industrial diesel engines
