Vehicle Test & Validation Engineer contract role to work in an engine manufacturing company based in Desford. Lead change and innovation as a proactive Manufacturing Test engineer. Implement vehicle testing into production environments. Join the highly focused team of Engineers and Technicians within the Manufacturing Engineering department. Implement manufacturing technologies and introduce the latest machines. You will lead and work cross-functionally ensuring the smooth introduction of our world-class products.

As a Vehicle Test & Validation Engineer, you will:

  • Conduct vehicle testing and validation to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and protocols for vehicle systems and components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical vehicle systems and components to identify and resolve issues (Off highway and automotive is preferable but not essential).
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement test methodologies and equipment.
  • Monitor and report on test results, including issue management to ensure People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost targets are achieved.
  • Develop equipment specifications and installation requirements, ensuring that the equipment is safe and meets the needs of manufacturing.
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders to drive DFM and best manufacturing practices.

You display this background and aptitude:

  • Bachelor's degree in either Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Root cause analysis for vehicle test failure, determining whether equipment or vehicle failure.
  • Strong communicator and problem solver.
  • 3+ years minimum relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in vehicle testing in automotive, heavy equipment, engine manufacture.
  • Familiarity with 8D, 5 why, fishbone diagrams, and other appropriate quality tools.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban and 5S, Vector CANape, or SoMat TCE.
  • Data acquisition systems and data analysis for vehicle testing.
  • Good understanding of vehicle testing processes and production.
  • Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter would be advantageous.
