Analytics Manager in Liverpool

Analytics Manager in Liverpool

Liverpool Full-Time On-site
I

Office attendance: every Wednesday, plus one additional team day each month

Your background might be in Power BI, SQL, data analytics, business intelligence or Data Science.

This role offers the chance to use that experience to lead a specialist team, help shape its direction and work directly with senior leaders to put its findings into practice.

We are working with an organisation that helps people back into employment. We’re looking for someone to take over an established insights team and build on the impact it’s already having.

What could this move offer you?

You’ll lead specialists across data science, machine learning, insights and data governance, with plans to bring labour market analysis into the team’s remit.

There’s room to bring your own ideas, influence the wider BI strategy and help decide which business questions the team explores. You’ll work directly with programme and divisional directors, building the relationships that help good analysis lead to practical changes.

The team’s work has already influenced how people are supported into employment and how resources are planned across the business. You’ll help identify further opportunities, guide the analysis and make sure the recommendations are clear enough for operational teams to act on.

There’s also scope to contribute to AI and automation initiatives, working alongside specialist colleagues to explore where these could reduce workload and improve services.

The hiring manager encourages people to explore ideas, take ownership and develop their skills, with support for relevant training and qualifications.

The background that could work well

You might already be an Insights Manager, Analytics Manager or Business Intelligence Manager. Equally, you could be a Senior Data Analyst or BI Team Lead who has led people or analytical work and is ready to move into full people management.

Experience in some of the following would be useful:

  • SQL, data modelling, data cleansing and working with complex datasets.
  • Excel and Power Pivot, including automating repeatable analysis or reporting processes.
  • Data visualisation, translating findings into clear reports and communicating them to different audiences.
  • Forecasting, predictive analysis, data mining or working alongside data science and machine learning specialists.

Experience with tools such as Tableau, R or SPSS would also be relevant.

The wider technology environment includes Power BI, Snowflake and Databricks, with established BI reporting and data engineering teams working alongside the insights function.

What you’ll bring to the team

You’ll need the analytical understanding to ask useful questions, assess different approaches and recognise the limitations of the findings.

You’ll also be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, agreeing priorities and explaining what the analysis means for the business. Developing people, giving clear direction and helping specialists connect their work to operational needs will be central to your role.

There’s scope here to build on your technical background, develop your management experience and have a say in how the organisation uses its data.
