We're looking for an experienced Applications Manager to lead the delivery and ongoing improvement of our client's Oracle E-Business suite. This role combines strong people leadership with hands-on delivery oversight. You'll look to evolve the applications strategy and roadmap, manage external delivery partners, and ensure application services are stable, well-governed and aligned to business priorities.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team, fostering ownership and continuous improvement
- Take ownership of the Oracle strategy and roadmap, ensuring technology investment delivers clear business value and risk reduction
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of application projects and enhancements, primarily via third-party delivery partners
- Act as delivery lead for application initiatives, coordinating internal teams, suppliers and business stakeholders
- Provide strong governance across application delivery, including architecture alignment, change control, security and compliance
- Commercially minded; you'll own vendor management for the estate, including budgets, contracts and performance against SLAs
- Work closely with business stakeholders across multiple sites and with international colleagues to understand demand, prioritise initiatives and ensure applications continue to support efficient, compliant and scalable operations
While much of the delivery is managed through partners, this is a hands-on role requiring active leadership and practical project management.
Your experience should include:
- Proven experience in an IT applications (Oracle) or delivery management role within a complex environment
- Strong track record of building successful partnerships with third-parties whilst keeping a rigorous eye on performance and ROI
- Knowledge of automation and low-code platforms (e.g. Power Platform, Appian); hands-on experience beneficial but not essential
- Experience owning budgets and managing vendor commercials
- Good understanding of IT governance, security and compliance, including audit support
- A real 'people person', someone who can coach, upskill, and motivate a team (three direct reports)
The role is hybrid and will see you typically working three days a week in their Ellesmere Port office. There is a salary on offer between £65k - £85k plus benefits package to be discussed. If this sounds like something that might be the ideal next step for you, please get in touch as we're looking to schedule interviews ASAP.
