Are you an experienced RGN, RMN or RNLD looking for a Clinical Lead position where you are actually given the time to lead? We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established nursing home, for an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead Nurse to join their senior team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident Registered Nurse who enjoys combining hands-on clinical expertise with leadership, mentoring and the drive to maintain exceptional standards of care.

Importantly, this position includes dedicated supernumerary hours, giving you protected time away from the nursing numbers to focus on clinical leadership, audits, care planning, staff development and maintaining high standards throughout the home.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Home Manager and wider management team, you will take a lead role in the clinical delivery of care across the home. You will be visible, approachable and supportive while ensuring residents receive safe, effective and genuinely person-centred care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strong clinical leadership to the nursing and care teams.
  • Supporting the Home Manager with the day-to-day clinical management of the home.
  • Maintaining excellent standards of person-centred nursing care.
  • Leading, supporting and mentoring Registered Nurses and care staff.
  • Overseeing care plans, risk assessments and clinical documentation.
  • Monitoring residents' changing clinical needs and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Supporting medication management and ensuring safe medicines practices.
  • Carrying out clinical audits and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Supporting safeguarding, infection prevention and clinical governance.
  • Liaising effectively with GPs, healthcare professionals, residents and families.
  • Supporting staff training, competency assessments and professional development.
  • Promoting a positive culture of dignity, choice, independence and respect.
  • Helping ensure the home remains fully compliant with CQC requirements and best practice.
  • Acting as a clinical role model and setting high standards for the wider team.

Dedicated Supernumerary Hours

One of the key attractions of this position is the inclusion of supernumerary hours. Our client understands that an effective Clinical Lead needs dedicated time to lead. Your supernumerary hours will allow you to focus on areas such as:

  • Clinical audits and governance
  • Care plan reviews
  • Quality and compliance
  • Staff supervision and mentoring
  • Clinical competencies
  • Training and development
  • Medication management
  • Resident reviews
  • Continuous improvement

This gives you the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the quality of care rather than simply carrying the Clinical Lead title while permanently working within the nursing numbers.

What Our Client Is Looking For

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • RGN, RMN or RNLD qualification.
  • Current NMC registration with a valid PIN.
  • Previous nursing home experience essential.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and sound clinical judgement.
  • Previous senior, leadership or supervisory experience within a care environment.
  • A good understanding of CQC requirements and clinical governance.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The confidence to lead, support and develop a nursing and care team.
  • A compassionate, professional and resident-focused approach.
  • The ability to lead by example and maintain high standards even in a busy environment.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established nursing home where your clinical knowledge and leadership experience will be valued. Our client offers:
