We are recruiting for a
Clinical Lead Nurse
to join an established nursing home in
Derby , supporting older people with nursing, dementia and complex care needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, hands-on nurse who enjoys leading by example, supporting colleagues and making a meaningful difference to residents lives. The role includes supernumerary hours , giving you dedicated time to support clinical standards, guide the nursing team and oversee care delivery alongside your hands-on nursing responsibilities. As Clinical Lead, you will work closely with the Home Manager to promote safe, person-centred care and maintain high clinical standards throughout the home. You will be a visible, approachable clinical leader who can support nurses and care colleagues while remaining confident in delivering direct nursing care. Your responsibilities will include: Leading, mentoring and supporting the nursing and care teams
Overseeing clinical care plans, risk assessments and resident reviews
Supporting safe medicines management, including medication audits
Monitoring residents health and recognising signs of deterioration
Promoting effective wound care, skin integrity and pressure ulcer prevention
Supporting residents with dementia and complex nursing needs
Ensuring accurate clinical documentation and effective handovers
Liaising with GPs, families and other healthcare professionals
Supporting clinical audits, quality improvement and CQC standards
Promoting dignity, safeguarding and person-centred care
Clinical Skills Were Looking For
We would love to hear from nurses with experience in a nursing home or similar clinical environment, including: Dementia and complex care
Medicines administration and management
Wound care and pressure area management
Nutrition, hydration and malnutrition risk
Diabetes care and blood glucose monitoring
Catheter care
PEG feeding and enteral nutrition , where required
End-of-life and palliative care
Recognising and responding to clinical deterioration
Care planning, risk assessments and clinical documentation
You do not need to have performed every procedure listed above, but you should be confident in your core nursing skills and committed to maintaining safe, high-quality care. About You
To be considered, you must: Be a
Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
with an active NMC PIN
Have nursing experience in a care home, nursing home or relevant clinical setting
Be confident supporting and guiding other members of the team
Have strong communication, organisation and clinical decision-making skills
Be passionate about delivering compassionate, person-centred care
Previous experience as a
Clinical Lead, Senior Nurse, Unit Manager or Deputy Manager
would be welcome. We would also like to hear from experienced Registered Nurses who are ready to progress into a leadership role. Why Apply?
