Are you an experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant / Senior Care Assistant who is medication trained and holds a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care?
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established nursing home, for an experienced and compassionate Senior Healthcare Assistant to join their permanent night team.
Offering £14.00 per hour and full-time night shifts, this is an excellent opportunity to bring your experience to a supportive nursing home where high standards of care really matter.
Take the Lead and Make a Difference on Nights
As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you'll be a key member of the night team, working alongside nursing colleagues to ensure residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care throughout the night.
You'll have additional senior responsibilities and will be someone the wider care team can turn to for support and guidance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and supervising Healthcare Assistants during night shifts.
- Leading by example and helping maintain excellent standards of care.
- Providing high-quality, person-centred care to residents.
- Administering medication safely and accurately in line with your training and the home's procedures.
- Supporting residents with personal care, mobility and individual needs.
- Monitoring residents' health and wellbeing throughout the night.
- Recognising and reporting changes or concerns promptly to the nursing team.
- Maintaining accurate care records and documentation.
- Supporting individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Completing effective handovers between night and day teams.
- Supporting and guiding less experienced members of the care team.
- Promoting dignity, independence, choice and respect.
- Following safeguarding, infection prevention and health & safety procedures.
- Supporting the home in maintaining high standards in line with CQC requirements.

What You Need
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification essential
- Experience administering medication essential
- Previous experience as a Senior Healthcare Assistant / Senior Care Assistant
- Previous nursing home or care home experience
- Experience supporting or supervising other care staff
- Good understanding of person-centred care
- Good knowledge of safeguarding
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills
- Confidence working independently during night shifts
- A compassionate, reliable and professional approach
