Are you an experienced Registered Nurse, Senior Nurse, Unit Lead or Clinical Lead looking for a role where you can genuinely influence the quality of care? We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Clinical Care Lead to join the leadership team within a prestigious, well-established nursing home that has achieved an Outstanding overall CQC rating.

More Than Just Being the Senior Nurse on Shift

Working alongside the Home Manager and wider leadership team, you'll play a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate and genuinely person-centred care. You'll provide visible clinical leadership to the nursing and care teams while helping maintain the excellent standards that have contributed to the home's Outstanding CQC rating.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strong clinical leadership to nursing and care staff
  • Supporting the day-to-day clinical operation of the home
  • Ensuring residents receive safe, effective and person-centred nursing care
  • Developing, reviewing and maintaining individualised care plans
  • Carrying out clinical assessments and supporting the admissions process
  • Assessing the needs of prospective nursing residents
  • Medication management, administration and monitoring
  • Medication ordering and accurate record keeping
  • Supporting clinical audits and quality assurance
  • Maintaining excellent standards of clinical documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with CQC requirements and clinical governance standards
  • Safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act and associated regulatory requirements
  • Supporting and developing nursing and care colleagues
  • Managing rotas within your lead area to maintain safe staffing levels
  • Liaising with GPs, community healthcare teams and other external professionals
  • Communicating effectively with residents and their families
  • Supporting investigations into complaints, incidents and areas of concern
  • Promoting resident independence, dignity, choice and engagement
  • Ensuring nursing practice remains in accordance with the NMC Code
  • Working collaboratively with the Home Manager and leadership team to drive continuous improvement

What we're looking for:

  • Registered Nurse RGN or RMN
  • Active NMC PIN essential
  • Previous nursing experience within a nursing home, care home, elderly care or similar healthcare environment
  • Previous experience as a Clinical Lead, Unit Lead, Senior Nurse or experienced Registered Nurse
  • Strong medication-management experience
  • Excellent care-planning and clinical-assessment skills
  • Understanding of clinical governance and auditing
  • Good knowledge of CQC requirements
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge
  • Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act
  • Ability to lead, support and develop nursing and care staff
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Confident working with families and external healthcare professionals
  • A compassionate, resident-focused approach to care
