Based in Dudley, we are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturer for a full-time position of Assembly Fitter. The role is a multi-skilled manufacturing position that involves assembling and fitting wiring and basic electrics to produce final components. Work within the goods inwards area is also required as part of your responsibilities.

Key features of the role:
- Assembly of basic components and pre-fit operations to ensure all components fit together correctly in line with instructions and drawings, checking accuracy throughout.
- Inspect the assembled part to ensure it meets quality standards before being moved on to the next process.
- Provide feedback on the assembly process and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall production outputs.
- Inspect all incoming components, including low voltage bus-bar, earth bar, and incoming/outgoing devices, to ensure they meet quality standards and match specifications.
- Install and connect low voltage bus-bar and earth bars according to design specifications.
- Install and mount incoming and outgoing devices such as circuit breakers, switches, contactors, etc., based on design requirements, verifying correct positioning, labelling, and proper electrical connections.
- Use appropriate tools and techniques to ensure secure and reliable connections.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, ensuring proper functionality and escalating any issues to minimise downtime.
- Respond to all deliveries at the roller shutter door in a timely manner, ensuring deliveries are received, checked against paperwork, and that paperwork is available for collection from office staff.
- Ensure all jobs are kitted correctly as per drawing and placed in order of completion in line with the day's schedule, reporting any shortages to your Team Leader as early as possible.
- Complete any preparation work on mounting plates, ensuring they are fitted with necessary nut inserts, gaskets, and pemm studs in line with their drawing.
- Receive paperwork, check work instructions are clear and understandable, verify all required components and parts are available in the inventory for the assembly process, prep workstation, and gather all components as per paperwork.
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures, safe systems of work, and personal protective equipment requirements at all times, encouraging other team members to follow the same.
Requirements:
- Previous experience within a similar manufacturing role.
- Experience in wiring basic electrical components.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Comfortable using hand tools.
