We are seeking a professional and experienced Lathe Machinist to join a precision engineering company in Wolverhampton. This company is heavily involved within the aerospace sector and due to growth are adding to their machining team.

Contract and Benefits of Lathe Machinist:

  • £16+ per hour basic pay
  • Lots of overtime at premium rates - average annual remuneration is £45000
  • 40 hours per week

Key responsibilities of Lathe Machinist:

  • Set and Operate Capstan Lathe Safely and Effectively
  • Monitor Machinery and Report Problems
  • Monitor Coolant Levels and Top up as required
  • Ensure one's own safety and that of others
  • Cooperate with employer on OH&S training and guidance
  • Do not interfere or misuse anything provided in the interest of health & safety
  • Ensure PPE is worn when required
  • Promote a health and safety workspace for all

Key attributes of Lathe Machinist:

  • Two years experience in a similar environment operating capstan lathe or similar
  • Read and Understand Engineering Drawings
  • Set and Operate Tangi-Flow Roller Box Attachment
  • Set and Operate thread rolling heads
  • Set and Operate Die Heads
  • Experience with Grinding and Forming tooling
  • Experience with Exotic Materials (Inconel, Titanium, etc)
  • Knowledge of Inspection Techniques and Measuring Equipment
  • Good communication skills
