We are seeking a Senior Research Chemist to join our Fuels Specialties team, based at our Ellesmere Port laboratory facility . This is a high impact role where your independence, creativity and leadership will drive the next generation of fuel additives.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and execute research projects from concept to delivery
- Design and conduct experiments, synthesise and test new molecules and interpret complex data to deliver project goals
- Stay ahead of industry trends by reviewing scientific literature and patents to inform your approach
- Collaborate across teams while owning your own work
- Communicate progress and results clearly to stakeholders, influencing decisions and driving momentum
- Apply advanced research tools and methodologies to accelerate development timelines
Requirements
- Qualified to Degree (or higher) in Chemistry or related scientific discipline with solid industrial R&D experience
- Proven ability to work independently in a research environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in leading or mentoring others in a technical setting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
