We are seeking a Senior Research Chemist to join our Fuels Specialties team, based at our Ellesmere Port laboratory facility . This is a high impact role where your independence, creativity and leadership will drive the next generation of fuel additives.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute research projects from concept to delivery
  • Design and conduct experiments, synthesise and test new molecules and interpret complex data to deliver project goals
  • Stay ahead of industry trends by reviewing scientific literature and patents to inform your approach
  • Collaborate across teams while owning your own work
  • Communicate progress and results clearly to stakeholders, influencing decisions and driving momentum
  • Apply advanced research tools and methodologies to accelerate development timelines

Requirements

  • Qualified to Degree (or higher) in Chemistry or related scientific discipline with solid industrial R&D experience
  • Proven ability to work independently in a research environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in leading or mentoring others in a technical setting
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
