As Global Data Governance Manager you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a data governance framework, policies, standards, and procedures across three core business units, transacting through SAP S4 Hana system. This role seeks to ensure data quality, accuracy, completeness, and consistency across the entire network, enabling informed decision-making, operational efficiency, and compliance.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Data Governance Framework: Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework within the organisation.
- Data Policy and Standards Development: Create and enforce data policies and procedures, and guidelines for data covering data creation, collection, processing, and archiving/deletion.
- Purchasing & Supply Chain Focus: Critical to establish key data objects that support processes within the department to maximise the benefit of systems available within the organisation, for example SAP Integrated Business Planning, which is entirely reliant on accurate data within the S4 Hana System.
- Data Quality Management: Define and implement data quality metrics, monitoring processes, and remediation procedures to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. This includes root cause analysis of data quality issues and implementation of preventative measures.
- Data Ownership and Stewardship: Establish clear data ownership and stewardship responsibilities across the global organization, ensuring accountability for data quality and compliance.
- Systems Integration: Ensuring data flows effectively through the S4 Hana platform, leveraging modules such as MDG, to all external platforms within the network including SAP IBP, Analysis for Office, SAC (SAP Analytics Cloud), and other integrated systems.
- Stakeholder Management: Establish regular forums to communicate data governance policies and procedures to all stakeholders, providing training and support as needed.
- Transaction Monitoring: Develop reports to check that transactional data is tidy and up-to-date (e.g. No past due sales orders, purchase orders or process orders).
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the data governance framework and identify opportunities for improvement. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data governance.
