The Global Director Agricultural Markets works with the Global VP of Performance Chemicals and the Regional Sales Managers for EMEA and ASPAC to develop and implement the sales strategy for the Agricultural Market globally. The role is responsible for driving the global commercial strategy and prioritization of new product and market development to meet these strategies. Responsibilities include the entire commercial life cycle ensuring that Innospec’s specialty and commodity chemicals business achieves global growth, sales and profit targets across all regions.
Essential Functions
- Development and execution of global and regional sales and marketing strategies to meet agreed business targets and budgets for the market.
- Lead and manage regional sales manager(s) and direct reports across multiple continents.
- Set annual forecast, pricing, and new product development strategies.
- Interface directly with Technical Team to prioritize new project development and customer technical service projects.
- Personally maintain and grow selected customer accounts.
- Establish sales performance process and KPI’s.
- Direct regional sales managers and immediate reports to meet set annual sales and budgeted targets.
- Build and maintain relationships across all customer levels; present commercial proposals and presentations up to senior management, internally and externally, when required.
- Identify and develop new customer opportunities aligned with business growth strategy.
- Collaborates with technical service, supply chain, and product management teams to deliver agreed plans.
Marketing and Product Strategies
- Lead global product marketing and regional portfolio strategies.
- Define new market needs and prioritize new product development.
- Manage or direct global and/or regional commercialization of New Product Development.
- Represent company at global and regional conferences, trade shows and industry associations.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Agronomy or a related scientific discipline.
- Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks (global and local), R&D processes, formulation techniques, data analysis, risk assessment, project management, and crop science.
- Minimum of 15-20 years total commercial and technical experience in the Agrochemical market.
- 10+ years in sales management within the target markets such as Crop Protection, Seed Treatments and the Agricultural Biological Industry involving commodity and specialty chemicals.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills; proven ability in problem-solving, attention to detail, adaptability, teamwork, and stakeholder management in multiple cultures.
- Willing to travel 50+% in both regional and international markets as needed.
- Extensive industry contacts would be advantageous.
